answer

Given :-

  • two carpets are there.
  • one measures 14 metres in length and 12.5 metre in breadth & other measures 16 metre in length and 13.8 metre in breadth

To Find :-

  • which carpet is bigger in area.

Solution :-

firstly find the area of first carpet and then find the area of second carpet.

Using formula :-

length x breadth

Putting Values :-

first carpet = 14 metre (length) 12.5 (breath)

second carpet = 16 metres (length) 13.8 metres (breadth)

Length x breadth

14 x 12.5

= 175m²

Length x breadth

16 x 13.8

=220.8m²

first carpet is equals to 175m² & second is equals to 220.8m²

Hence carpet B is bigger.
