An increase in mass of either of the two or increase in the mass of both the bodies will help them to influence each other by their gravity, as masses affect gravity the most. If you are studying Newtonian Mechanics things are pretty different, i.e. distance is preferred to be less as Fg(force of gravity) is inversely proportional to square of the distance b/w the two balls;)
