The chloride which is least reactive with the hydrolysis point of view is CH₂=CH-Cl.
- During hydrolysis of chloride first there is a formation of carbonium ion as an intermediate.
- The more stable the intermediate formed more will the tendency of the chloride to get hydrolyzed.
- The vinyl carbocation formes in the hydrolysis of CH₂=CH-Cl as an intermediate is the least stable among the four. Hence, CH₂=CH-Cl will be least reactive towards hydrolysis.
