Which continents of today were part of the Gondawana land
Answers
May be Africa, Deccan plateau of India South America , Australia and Antarctica...
The continents of Africa, Antarctica, Australia, and South America were once part of Gondwanaland. The subcontinent of India was also part of Gondwanaland but after millions of years of moving north, India collided with Asia. Gondwanaland was once the southern portion of the Pangaea supercontinent but it actually existed before Pangaea, colliding with the landmasses that made up the northern portion of Pangaea. After Pangaea broke apart, Gondwanaland lasted for a while longer before it too began to break apart. South America and Africa split off from Gondwanaland as a single landmass around 180 million years ago, eventually splitting from one another around 140 million years ago. The eastern part of Gondwanaland contained Antarctica, Australia, India, and Madagascar. India and Madagascar eventually split off with Madagascar moving toward Africa and India moving toward Asia. Finally, around 50 million years ago, Antarctica and Australia broke apart with Australia moving northward, away from the South Pole.
