The pine tree exhibits flowers, while the apple tree does not contain any flowers. The pine tree possesses unprotected seeds, while the apple tree possesses seeds in the fruit. The apple tree is seedless and nonvascular plant, on the other hand, the pine tree is vascular.

pple (Malus spp.) and pine (Pinus spp.) seedlings share the same basic functional parts, their structure and arrangement are different, as are the ways the seeds are produced. The parts the seedlings have in common are a seed coat, a seed root called a radicle, and a stem called a hypocotyl. Their seed leaves differ markedly in shape and number. These differences reflect the fact that pines and apples aren't closely related.
