Which countries are democratic and non democratic and why?

Almost half of the world countries are democratic. For ex - India, USA, Australia etc. as they have sought to the democratic form and This form of gov. was accepted there while countries like North Korea are under dictatorship rule( Of Kim-Jon-Un) while countries like Pakistan are under military rule as democracy has not been stable there or they didn't accept democracy.
