Raja Mansingh played a very important role in building the Kashi Vishwanath temple.
Initially he was ostracized by the Hindu community for marrying her sister to Mughals.
Later on Todar mal also played a very important role in boosting the construction activity of the temple to a great extent.
Later on Aurangzeb destroyed the temple and build the mosque in its place.
