  • Rice paddy is cultivated in small, level, flooded field in southern and eastern Asia where wet-rice cultivation is very prevalent method of farming. They utilize a small part of the total land and it can feed the majority of the rural population
  • The farmers  get their fields ready before the rainy season and the  weeds are cleared and the field is ploughed by buffaloes or tractors to a depth of few inches.
  • After adding the manures and fertilizers to  the soil the entire place  remains covered with water of about 2.5 cm. The rice paddy sowing time  is June-July and it is harvested in November-December
