The defect of the eye that can be corrected by using cylindrical lens is Astigmatism.
Astigmatism is caused due to uneven curvature of the eye lens. As a result, some portions of the things one views, appears to be blurred. It generally occurs above 30 years of age, but it also occurs in children, who are inclined to watch Television from wrong angles.
