The columbian exchange which can also be known as the columbian interchange is a name related to the Christopher Columbus and 1492 Voyage that lead to European colonization.

After Columbus discovered America, there took places a widespread transfer of species and technology between America (new world) to the old world. Along with the technology they transferred Human population, plants, animals and ideas.

Cultural exchange and the change in global population are the immediate consequences of the columbian exchange. Proliferation of invasive species and some communicable diseases are the most important byproducts of the columbian exchange.
