Gingivostomatitis is the disease of gums that results in swollen gums and tongue and also causes their redness.

EXPLANATION:

This disease is not an ulcer of the mouth and must not be confused with it. The occurance of this disease may be a result of a bacterial or a viral infection and is a common infection of the gums. The disease may even result in lesions in the mouth that resemble canker sores.
