He proposed the doctrine of Advaita Vedanta.
Adi Shankara lived during the 8th century and did remarkable work in reforming Hinduism.
He was also known as Jagadguru.
He united the different sects of Hinduism and established the four mathas in India which led to the revival of Hinduism.
He also explained Buddhist principles and it's difference from Hinduism.
