Action not happening in prophase -

(a) Hydration of chromatin

Prophase is first phase of cell division in mitotic phase.

It is marked by disappearance of nucleolus and nuclear membrane.

Condensation of chromosomes takes place. This occurs through dehydration and coiling.

Condensed form of chromosome starts becoming visible. Centrioles too start moving towards opposite ends in this phase.

The phase is followed by metaphase, then anaphase occurs and finally telophase. After that cell division or cytokinesis occurs.
