At home, the electric heating devices that have resistors controlling the flow of electricity are iron box, microwave oven, water heater, and room heater.

Explanation:

In all of these devices, the electrical energy is converted into heat energy.  Here, the heating element is the resistor that works on the principle of Joule heating.  

Therefore, when an electric current is passed through the resistor, the electrical energy is converted into heat energy which is commonly used for domestic purposes. As the property of a resistor is to resist the flow of a current, it gets heated when an electric current is passed through it.
