fan converts mechanicalenergy in the form of a rotating shaft, into mechanical energy in the form of kinetic energy of the fluid medium (usually air), by means of a pressure differential

electrical energy changes into heat in the fan's motor. If the fan shakes, some of the electrical energy is being turned into unwanted kinetic energy. The more efficiently the fan uses electrical energy, though, the more energy will be transformed into kinetic energy that moves the air.
