The factor which does not affect the temperature is  gravity. In geography, the factors which affects temperature are latitude, altitude, distance from the sea, cloud cover, ocean currents, winds and length of day. If a place is far from the Equator, the place is much colder. The reason is because areas which are closer to the Equator normally have warmer temperature than the ones located far from it.

When a place has high elevation, the temperature gets cold, too. Ocean currents affect the temperature as well – they bring warm or cold air depending on its current. Areas that are closer to the ocean have warmer winters and cooler summer than those that are located far from the ocean.
