Most quick-dry fabrics are made from nylon, polyester, or merino wool.
Cotton always takes time to dry. Given the hydrophilic(these fibers are attracted to water or liquids in general and tend to retain moisture) nature of the fiber it takes longer to dry. Most synthetic fibers like terlyn, rayon, polyester and nylon dry faster as they are hydrophobic (usually don't have the tendency to absorb liquids) in nature.
The only way cotton can dry fast is if it is put in direct sunlight. But it will harm the fabric. The color of the fabric will fade away fast.
