mouth - salivary amylase - breaks down strach to give sugar
stomach - hydrochloric acid - acidic medium for pepsin to act
- pepsin - acts on proteins to make it to amino acids
- mucus - protects the stomach lining from the acidic medium
small intestine - bile juice - makes the medium acidic for pancreatic enzymes to work and it also emulsifies fat globules
- trypsin - digests proteins
- lipase - breaks down emulsified fats
and then finally the enzymes in the small intestines converts proteins to amino acids, complex carbohydrates to glucose and fats into fatty acids
