Explanation:

Madhubani Painting” or “Mithila Painting”.

Madhubani art is a style of Indian painting ,practiced in the Mithila region in India. It is one of the most famous & well-known arts in India. These paintings often have characteristics like complex geometrical patterns. They are very well known for representation of ritual content in festivals and religious rituals.

It is said that the Madhubani painting was originated in the Ramayana era when King Janaka requested the artists to decorate the entire Mithila city with these paintings during Ram-Sita’s wedding. This is why Madhubani paintings are mostly based on religious themes and are often seen in most religious households.

The style and design of the Madhubani painting is very unique. It is often created without the use of sketch which makes it instinctive & very different from other forms of paintings.

These paintings are based on a fixed theme and accordingly lines, patterns and symbols. The themes of Madhubani art usually include natural elements like fishes, birds, animals, sun, peacocks, trees and flowers, like a lotus. Love, valour, devotion, fertility and prosperity are often symbolized by such patterns and it is also linked to the concept of divinity and spirituality in Feng Shui as well.

The bright colors and unique designs used in Madhubani paintings make it an exclusive and globalised art form. It is now very famous outside India and has a high demand. Nowadays, this artworks can be found on an International platform on mediums like cloth,canvas,paper-mache products, etc. They are often used in decorating homes as well.

These are the reasons why I like Madhubani paintings a lot and I enjoy doing Madhubani Paintings.
