f(x) = 2x + 3

Bring 3 to the left

f(x) = y

Now :

y - 3 = 2x

Divide both sides by 2

x = (y - 3)/2

Now we can write this as :

f⁻¹(y) = (y - 3)/2

f⁻¹(x) = ¹/₂ x - ³/₂

or option A on edge
