Hi there,

So, charcoal can absorb only that type of gas which can be easily liquified. And among other gases like SO2, CO2, etc only SO2 can be easily liquified.

So, answer is SO2 gas.

Thanks :)

The gas that is strongly absorbed by Charcoal is SO_2.

Explanation:

  • The Charcoal is a compound of Carbon obtained by the burning of wood without oxygen.
  • It is mainly used as air and water purifiers as it catches the unwanted and harmful particles in the water and unwanted and harmful gases in the air.
  • The Sulphurdioxide, SO_2, is the gas that can be absorbed by the charcoal, as it is a highly liquefiable and toxic gas which is very harmful for the living organisms.
  • It is generally released at the time of volcanic eruption.
  • The charcoal captures the Sulphur atom and released the Oxygen molecule into the atmosphere.
