“Dry ice” is the name of solid carbon dioxide.
It is very cold (a mixture of dry ice and alcohol has a temperature of -78.5 degrees C).
When exposed to the normal temperature outside atmosphere under normal conditions, dry iceit begins to “sublimes” to forming gaseous carbon dioxide.
