The central guiding force of China has been its spirit of nationalism.

China has a very strong foreign policy laying emphasis on striving for achievements through out these decades.

China's foreign policy lays special emphasis on peace and harmony.

United states has refereed to china's foreign policy as the “Five  Principles of Peaceful Coexistence” (United Nations, 2014: 70).

These are

1) mutual respect  for each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty,

2) mutual non-aggression,

3) mutual noninterference in each other's internal affairs,

4) equality and mutual benefit, and

5) peaceful coexistence.

Hope this helps.
