The hormones Ghrelin and Leptin start and stop hunger pangs respectively.

Ghrelin is hormone secreted in stomach which signals hypothalamus ( a gland in our brain) for hunger which makes us to feel hungry.

Leptin is secreted by fat cells which reduces or stops hunger pangs by counter reacting Ghrelin. Together both these hormones are called ' Hunger Hormones' as they control hunger .
