1) he sacrificed his all luxury and took part in independence movement.
2) he created ajad hind fauj to fight with British and to drew them out of India.
3) He sacrificed his life for freedom of India.

Gandhi was an indian nationalist leader he had great importance in freedom struggle of india because:
i)In 1915 in 1915 Gandhiji returned from South Africa.
ii)he played an important role in freedom struggle from 1916 till his death.
iii) he is successful involved the mass in Satyagraha movement .
iv)his famous movement were non cooperation movement civil disobedience movement and Quit India Movement .
v)he mobilised the people to unite for the mass struggle.
vi)he also worked for the dalit class and called them Harijan.
