Glucan is the polysaccharide of glucose and cellulose is a fibrous homopolysaccharide. Cellulose molecules have linear chains. It is made up of glucose residues and joined by 1-4 beta linkage. Starch and Glycogen are food storage polysaccharides. They are also a made up of glucose residues but have highly branched structure. Starch is present in plants and glycogen in animals is the equivalent of starch in plants.
