India's first war of independence is 'The Indian Rebellion' of May 10 1857
But it was unsuccessful due to the wrong decisions of some leaders.
It was led by Mangal Pandy from 1857 to 1858 against the British rule in India.
Though it did not succeded in its target but it helped to uprise Indians to led the revolts against the British rule.
