Which is easier to hold in hand: a kulhar (earthen pot) or a glass tumbler? Why?

A kulhar is easier to hold than a glass tumbler, because a kulhar has a rougher surface than glass. The irregularities on the surface of the kulhar get interlocked with the irregularities on the hand , this increases friction which makes it easier to hold the kulhar.

Friction is helpful in some instances because it gives a better grip. A glass surface is much smoother than an earthen cup. So earthen cup has more friction and thus better grip.
