Sodium is heavier than potassium..

gautam96: not friend....
Anonymous: sodium is more heavier?
gautam96: yaa due to unusual increase in atomic size
Anonymous: but it's size is less than potassium na
gautam96: k has unusual big size but low density
gautam96: it is exeception of group

There is an exception in the density trend between sodium and potassium. The exception is that although the atomic mass increases and the number of protons increase for potassium, its density is less than that for sodium.potassium is lighter than sodium because increase in atomic volume overweighs the increase in atomic mass.

gautam96: you are right
gautam96: friend
gautam96: than
gautam96: thanks.....
purvaihere: yeah its ok
