How loud is a lions road?
It's so loud it can reach 114 decibels (at a distance of around one metre) and can be heard from as far away as five miles. This volume is all to do with the shape of the cat's larynx.
You don't hear a lion roaring, you feel it. The closer you are, the more the vibrations tremor through your body, and believe me, if it's your first time experiencing it and you are within 50 metres, you are left in gob-smacked, jaw-dropping awe!
