Arunachal Pradesh is the most sparsely populated state of India. Its due to hilly terrain, heavy rainfall and dense forest.

The sparsely populated area is Jammu Kashmir.
The reasons are:-
1. The main reason again is the border sharing of JK with China and Pakistan. In our constitution under the article 370, JK is regarded as a special state which has to maintain some limits due to security reasons.
2. It is a mountanious area, such a place where you won't find a good hotel to have food and where reaching of vehicles for vegetables is not at all possible. So, again there no scope for development. Therefore, people don't live in these places.
