there are two reasons for Cr2+ to be more reducing than the Fe2+.

Hey !!

Cr²⁺  is a stronger reducing agent than Fe²⁺ as after the loss of one electron Cr²⁺ forms Cr³⁺ which is more stable t³2g (half filled) configuration in a medium like water.
