Given : y = (1/2)x  - 2

To Find :  which Graph represent y = (1/2)x  - 2

On a coordinate plane, a line goes through points (negative 1, 0) and (0, 2). On a coordinate plane, a line goes through points (negative 2, 0) and (0, 1). On a coordinate plane, a line goes through points (0, negative 2) and (4, 0). On a coordinate plane, a line goes through points (0, negative 2) and (1, 0).

Solution:

y = (1/2)x  - 2

(- 1 , 0)   and (0, 2)

slope = 2

y - 0  = 2(x +1 )

=> y = 2x + 2

(-2 , 0)   and (0, 1)

Slope = 1/2

y - 0 = (1/2)(x + 2)

=> y = (1/2)x + 1

(0, -2) and (4, 0).

slope = 2/4  = 1/2

y - 0  = (1/2)(x - 4)

= y = (1/2)x  - 2

Matches with Given Equation

(0, -2) and (1, 0).

Slope = 2

y - 0  = 2(x - 1)

=> y = 2x - 2

On a coordinate plane, a line goes through points (0, negative 2) and (4, 0).

represents  y = (1/2)x  - 2
