Parallel lines means those lines which do not intersect each other even if they are increased till infinity from both the ends.

So if you see the globe there are three such lines. The first one is the equator at zero degree.

The second one is the tropic of Capricorn.

The third one is the tropic of cancer.

All these three lines are parallel and can never bisect or intersect each other.

But the longest obviously is the equator since it passes through the center.
