"The Madras Regiment is the oldest armored regiment in the Indian army. It is one of very oldest one and people are saying it is formed in the year back in the 1750s.

The regiment has been through many campaigns with both the British Indian Army and the post-independence Indian Army.  

Initially, the Madras Regiment was formed at the European Regiment which was made by East India Company.
