The saturated hydrocarbon from the compounds will be in the alkane group.


Saturated means that the hydrocarbon has only single bonds and the hydrocarbon will contain the maximum number of hydrogen atoms for every carbon atom.


For instance, ethane – C2H6 is an alkane in nature because CH3 – CH3 whereas ethane and ethyne are unsaturated.
