Ozone and particulate matter contribute to Asthma in a person.

Small particles present in the air can irritate the lungs by entering into it and triggering Asthma. Similarly, ozone also triggers asthma by affecting the airways and lungs.

There is a direct relation between ozone concentration in the air and Asthma attacks and elevated concentrations of ozone increase the incidence of Asthma.
