Plastids occur in most plant cells and are absent in animal cells.
Plastid is a largest cellular organelle in Plants.
They are self replicating organelles like mitochondria.

Plastids are of three types :

1. Leucoplasts --- In Roots ----colourless.

2. Chloroplasts --- Present in leaves of plant --- Green in colour.

3. Chromoplasts -- present in flowers and fruits -- coloured plastids [except green.]
