The thoracic diaphragm, or simply the diaphragm (Ancient Greek: διάφραγμα, translit. diáphragma, lit. 'partition'), is a sheet of internal skeletal muscle[2] in humans and other mammals that extends across the bottom of the thoracic cavity.
