Parkinson's disease is a chronic progressive neurological disease that affects nerve cells in an area of the brain near neck, known as substantia nigra. SKELETAL MUSCLES get affected in Parkinson's disease. substantia nigra cells in normal condition produce dopamine (neurotransmitter), which coordinate smooth and balanced muscle movement. but in parkinson's disease the substantia nigra cells die dopamine production reduces and muscles get affected.
