13² = 169

you can find by prime factorisation or division method

But since this is a very small number you can even use this method:

169-1 = 168

168-3 = 165

165-5 = 160

160-7 = 153

153-9 = 144

144-11 = 133

133-13 = 120

120-15 = 105

105-17 = 88

88-19 = 79

79-21 = 58

58-23 = 25

25-25 = 0

hence, √169 = 13

In this method the number is subtracted by consecutive odd numbers in ascending order, till the result is zero. If the result is NOT zero then it's not a perfect square. The number of times it takes to get zero is the square root of the number. Here it took us 13 rounds to get zero. hence square root of 169 is 13

NOTE : DO NOT USE THIS METHOD WHEN THE NUMBER IS REALLY BIG, IT TAKES A LOT OF TIME. USE PRIME FACTORISATION OR DIVISION METHOD IN THAT CASE

thank you!!

hope it helps

have a great day
