Ocean currents are basically a directed continuous movement of a limited aount of water mass. They current can be warm or cold deending upon it point og origination.

The ocean currents may seem to be minor part of the environment but it greatly influences the climatic conditions. The currents are also responsible for forming shore deserts.

The Namib desert was formed due tot he effects of the Benguala ocean current. such deserts are different from the ones formed inland.

The humidity is condensed as it is near to the shore so the rise or fall in temperature becomes irrelevant. because of such conditions, there is growth of some vegetation for animals to feed on.
