Chronic diseases are the ones which develop over time and do not appear suddenly. They are persistent and generally more harmful as they are very complicated, have long term effects and are difficult to treat. In many chronic diseases like hypertension and diabetes, the diseases are not cured fully and the medications only serve the purpose of minimizing the symptoms. While, in cases of acute diseases, they last for a short period of time and generally can be cured.
