If there were no decomposers them the dead remains and waste would pile up. The nutrients would not be replenished. Natural enrichment of the soil would not take place.

The environment would be highly unsafe for the inhabitants since the main role that the decomposers place is to clean the environment by consuming the dead carcasses, hence reduction of what could be termed waste which could cause harmful micro organisms to the ecosystem through air pollution, soil pollution and water pollution.
