Edible oils are commonly plant-based oils that are manufactured for human consumption. Edible oils may be sold as solid or liquid at room temperature. Examples are coconut oil, cottonseed oil, olive oil, palm oil, sunflower oil among others.  It is also good to note that there are inedible oils such as fuel oil, gasoline which are petroleum based products.

Between pearl millet, wheat, maize and pea;  Maize is the source of edible oil.

Maize is used to produce Maize oil/Corn Oil, through extraction of the oil from the germ of the maize.
