Answer:

Smallpox

Explanation:

Smallpox is an extremely contagious disease, which is caused by the deadly virus called Variola. This contagious disease came into existence since 10,000 BC. It is finally eradicated from India in 1977 when the data were carefully checked by A WHO International Commission comprising epidemiology and infectious disease experts from 16 countries. To assess the accuracy of the information on the spot, they made field visits to states, district- and health centres also to villages. After reconvening in Delhi, they concluded that smallpox had been eradicated from India by appropriate and vaccination in the community.
