The 'From' field usually represents the sender mail ID in an email.
In web clients such as Gmail, the 'From' field usually consists of the sender's name and the email address is generally enclosed in brackets.
For example, when I created my account on Brainly, I had received an email. The 'From' column consisted of:
Sarah from Brainly.in <[email protected]>
Here, the name associated with the account is 'Sarah from Brainly.in' and the sender mail ID is '[email protected]'.
Therefore, the 'From' field represents the sender mail ID in an email.
