Answer:

a)√x - 1

b)x² -2/x² + 5

both of them are not polynomials becausePolynomials cannot contain division by a variable. For example, 2y2+7x/4 is a polynomial, because 4 is not a variable. However, 2y2+7x/(1+x) is not a polynomial as it contains division by a variable. Polynomials cannot contain negative exponents.

In both (a)and(b) power is negetive

1) in a polynomial the variable is not always not in under root as in question a the x is in under root so it is not a polynomial

2) and in question b the polynomial is not in q/y form so the answer b is not an polynomial

So they both are not polynomial
