- Midbrain (aka mesencephelon) is divided into tectum & cerebellar peduncles.

1) Tectum -

- It consists of superior & inferior colliculi.

2) Cerebellum peduncles -

- It consists of tegmentum, substantia niagra & crus cerebri.

# Inferior colliculi -

- It is large nucleus of gray-matter lying behind corresponding elevation.

- They are concerned with auditory pathway.
