♣ WHAT IS IMPULSE??

✍️ Impulse is the change of momentum of an object when the object is acted upon by a force for an interval of time.

✍️ Impulse, J = F•∆t

where,

∆t is a short interval of time.

or,

✍️ J = m•∆v/∆t

where,

m∆v is the change in momentum.

✍️ Since force is a vector quantity, impulse is also a vector in the same direction.

✍️ Impulse applied to an object produces an equivalent vector change in its linear momentum, also in the same direction.

✍️ SI unit is Newton Seconds (N s)
